Brownies

Classic fudgy brownies with optional chocolate chips.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup (65g) all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup (35g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup (90g) chocolate chips (optional)

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×9 inch pan.
  2. Whisk melted butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.
  3. In another bowl, sift flour, cocoa, baking powder, salt. Fold into wet mixture until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  4. Pour into pan; smooth top. Bake 20–25 min until a toothpick has a few moist crumbs.
  5. Cool in pan, then cut into squares.
